The studio
KMTN studio is an architecture and design practice founded by Sayna Matin, whose approach brings together thoughtful design, technical knowledge, and a strong understanding of how spaces are experienced in everyday life. Prior to studying architecture, she earned a Diploma in Interior Decorating with honors, establishing a foundation in interiors that continues to inform her approach to space, materiality, and detail. She later earned her Bachelor of Architecture with honors from NewSchool of Architecture & Design in San Diego, with a minor in Digital Architecture and Fabrication.
Her professional experience spans a range of project types and scales, including hotels, residential developments, subdivisions, and commercial projects. This diverse background has shaped an approach to architecture that considers each project as a whole, from its initial concept and relationship to its surroundings to the details that ultimately define how a space looks, feels, and functions.
Today, she leads KMTN studio alongside a growing team, bringing a collaborative and highly considered approach to every project. The studio combines architectural design, technical expertise, visualization, and a working knowledge of California building requirements to guide projects from early ideas through design and documentation. At the heart of KMTN studio is a belief that good architecture should feel intentional and distinctive while remaining practical, responsive, and deeply connected to the people it is designed for.
